Temporary relief of muscle and joint pain associated with arthritis, simple backaches, sprains, strains, and bruises. Zostrix cream is a topical analgesic. Exactly how it works is unknown, but it is thought to decrease the amount of a certain substance (substance P) that transmits pain in the body.

For the symptomatic relief of pain associated with osteoarthritis.

Adults: Apply Zostrix cream to the affected area 3-4 times daily. Zostrix cream may cause temporary burning on application. This burning is observed more frequently when Zostrix is applied less than 3-4 times per day.

Not recommended for use on children.
